C-SAP OER project – towards a case studies video commentary: guidance and resources

Possible approaches to the video commentary

1.       “Walk-through” approach

You may want to think of the video commentary as a walk-through for your case study, where the purpose is to offer guidance to potential users and explain briefly elements of the case study. Thus, you might want to structure your commentary in the following way:

·         1-2 sentence summary

·         Outline of the module that the case study is based on

·         The best way to navigate/explore the case study

·         The relevance of the case study to the CSAP OER project

A similar example can be found on to C-SAP volunteering website (look for the introductory video at the bottom of the page).

2.       “Challenges” approach

An alternative approach could focus on the challenges you encountered in the course of working on your case study, and so in your commentary you could reflect on the following:

·         Very briefly, what is your case study about?

·         What were the challenges you experienced while working on your case study? How did you overcome them?

·         How did that relate to challenges of the CSAP OER project overall?

For comparable examples, see here: http://www.languages-ict.org.uk/action/video_studies/18_woodlands_summary.htm

3.       Any other approach…

Provided you stay within 2-3 minute limit and focus on the case study, feel free to follow your own ideas for the video commentary!
